Juneteenth in Galveston
In lieu of organizing a “No Kings” Protest on Saturday, June 14, Galveston Island Democrats (GID) will be supporting and participating in Juneteenth events as our city celebrates the 160th anniversary of the birth of freedom. Juneteenth originated in Galveston, and we believe it is important to recognize, support, and celebrate this event.
Saturday, June 14
Festival & Celebration, from 1-8pm at McGuire Dent Rec Ctr, 2222 28th St
Vendor tent – selling t-shirts, drinks, and promoting our club! This will be such a fun event with music and food trucks – and we are bringing a mini A/C (“swamp cooler”) for our booth!
