Courts Reject Ten Commandments in Texas Classrooms
Four different courts have rejected the idea that schools can be forced to display the ten commandments in public institutions. All of the courts seem to hold the following positions about this issue:
- Ten Commandments intrude on the separation of Church and State.
- Posting this material is indoctrination that is not acceptable in a public school. They suggest that private or religious schools can use statement of belief for that particular religion.
- Posting the commandments are inappropriate because of the use of the schools to indoctrinate students.
- The posting of the Ten Commandments unfairly admonishes other religious in a public school environment.
- Only families and faith communities, not the government, has the right to instill religious beliefs, in our children
Texas Attorney General is suing a number of school districts for not displaying the Ten Commandments. Galveston, Round Rock, and LeanderSchool district to force compliance to Senate Bill 10, which requires schools to post the Ten Commandments.
Additional legal actions are contemplated to force compliance with the bill. Stay informed for additional information and actions to fight against this legislation. Check the GID website for updates and calls to action as we fight for Texas Freedom.
