A Strategic Master Plan was adopted by the Galveston Wharves Board in 2019. The plan included two new terminals, an internal roadway, expansion of the West Port Cargo Complex, and industrial development on Pelican Island. A major portion of the 2019 is ahead of schedule so the authors of the original plan were retained to conduct extensive research and market forecasts to make recommendations for the next 20 years.

The Public Open House on August 13 will allow the consultants to share their findings, answer questions, and collect public comments.
