Juneteenth in Galveston
In lieu of organizing a “No Kings” Protest on Saturday, June 14, Galveston Island Democrats (GID) will be supporting and participating in several Juneteenth events as our city celebrates the 160th anniversary of the birth of freedom. Juneteenth originated in Galveston, and we believe it is important to recognize, support, and celebrate this event.
We proudly attended the Juneteenth Development, Inc. Scholarship Gala on June 1 at Old Central Cultural Center, and we will also be participating in the following events. Please join us at one or at all these events!
