Like so many food banks across the country, our local Galveston Food Bank and St. Vincent’s House have seen cuts in funding, drops in donations, and increased need. During the month of May, GID will be accepting donations of non-perishable food items at each of our activities: Happy Hour, Protest Rally & March, Monthly Meeting, and Bowling! In addition, members assisted with the Drive-through Food Distribution at St. Vincent’s House on May 12, and we will be scheduling additional opportunities for giving hands-on assistance.
